Changing the background

Changing the background is easy. Just create a new background image and name it bg1.jpg. Upload it to images and that’s it; but of course, make sure it is styled to accomodate the layout. The current background image is repeating along the x-axis. If you  create a background image that ’s not meant to repeat, you’ll need to edit style.css and change the value of repeat in the body class from repeat-x to no-repeat. Likewise if you change it to something that’s supposed to repeat along the y-axis you’ll need to change repeat-x to repeat-y.

The above image is an example of Saturday 658 using a different non-repeating background.

You can of course name your image file anything you want. The name does not have to be bg1.jpg, but if you do name it something other than bg1.jpg make sure you edit style.css and change the body background image file to the name of your file.

I like your theme layout, but no matter what I do I can’t get the background image to change. I’ve tried changing the name, deleting the original file, different browsers, it doesn’t do any good. Still stuck with the aqua-yellow look. I’ve edited the CSS to no avail. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Mike are you editing the correct stylesheet? You need to go to scheme files in the styles folder and edit the stylesheet there. In other words if you are using the default scheme you’ll need to edit styles/default/style.css, if you are using helloyellow you go to styles/helloyellow/style.css etc.
